City sculpture trail to honour Seamus Murphy

WALKING trails to honour sculptor Seamus Murphy were launched yesterday on the 100th anniversary of his birth.

The three routes feature key places across Cork city associated with the life and career of the internationally renowned sculptor, as well as stops to view his work, and the city’s architecture and stonework from where he drew his inspiration.

His family attended a small birthday celebration at University College Cork yesterday and his son Colm said it was their hope that the tours would introduce a new generation of people to Murphy’s work.
