Students attack poll day

St John Ó Donnabháin, president of the University of Limerick Students Union (ULSU) said: “The very fact that the election is taking place on a Thursday thus making it difficult to get home to vote, is sign enough that the government doesn’t want young people to vote.”

The Limerick Association of Students which represents up to 15,000 students attending UL, LIT, MIC and Limerick School of Art and Design have drawn up an election shopping list which they plan to put to all candidates. They will seek guarantees that the return of fees is not on the cards.
