Woman pleads for reversal of deportation order

A UKRAINIAN woman honoured by the President made a passionate plea to Justice Minister Michael McDowell yesterday.

Yuliya Shakhova, 25, who has lived in Ireland for three years and is facing deportation asked Mr McDowell to look at her case once more.

“This is where my home is,” she said. “I know that I don’t have a right to hope, but I still do.”
