Second family had narrow escape at same caravan park

ANOTHER child almost drowned in the pond which claimed the life of Glen McNamara Twomey, it emerged yesterday.

The inquest into Glen’s death heard how another child was pulled from the water at Seafield Caravan Park in 2001.

The inquest also heard that following this close call, a planning application by the caravan park’s owners to fill in the pond was refused by both Youghal Town Council and An Bord Pleanála.
