Lotto bosses said the winners — one from Cork and the other from Limerick — could have picked up their winnings yesterday from the Friday night draw but had yet to do so.

The delay cost the pair €860 each in daily interest.

One of the winning tickets was sold in Coleman’s Spar shop in Millstreet, Co Cork, while the other was bought at Kelly’s supermarket in Foynes, Co Limerick.

Suggestions for the Cork winner included a Millstreet shop worker or a syndicate of factory workers.

Limerick’s winner was reported to be plumber Tom Flynn, who is in his late 50s and from Foynes.

The winners stand to collect €9,652,339 each.
