Smitten dad-to-be opts to propose in paper
Tim wanted to go public with his proposal of marriage to the love of his life, Nora Muldowney.
Tim, from Caherdavin in Limerick, splashed out €50 and took out an ad in the Limerick Leader newspaper which carried his proposal.
The 24-year-old was yesterday still nervously awaiting a response from Nora, 22. She is nine months’ pregnant with their baby.
Tim said: “I just wanted to show her how much I love her and how serious I am about her. It is an expression of my love for her and that I want her to be my wife.
“I didn’t sleep at all last night. I couldn’t close my eyes for a second. It’s all I could think about. I spent the entire time talking to my mum and friends about it. They all wished me the best of luck. I can’t eat or anything.”
Rather than get down on bended knee, Tim wanted to do “something unique” for his proposal.
The €50 advertisement read: “I love you Nora Muldowney. Will you marry me? I worship your very existence. Tim.”
He met Nora at a party in the Locke Bar about 18 months ago.
He said: “We hit it off straight away and started living together. I just love her so much.
“Then I just sat back and thought what could I do, what way could I show her how serious I was about her. I just want to paint her an honest picture of what I want.”
Tim said he would give Nora all the time in the world for her to respond to the proposal.
He said: “This is her decision and hers alone to make. She can take all the time she wants, but she knows that I love her.
“If she accepts and was to have the baby this weekend, it would be the best thing ever in my life. It would bring me double joy.”
