KRM Construction Partnership have confirmed they are preparing a second planning application which they intend lodging with Waterford City Council later this year. The consortium of key developers plans a major retail, tourism and leisure development in Waterford city centre.

Chief executive Paul Miskella said they are currently working with CJ Falconer & Associates Architects on a plan for their substantial site, which borders New Street, Michael Street and Stephen Street.

Mr Miskella also confirmed that the company is committed to a comprehensive programme of consultation and engagement with various stakeholders including Waterford City Council, public representatives, Waterford Chamber and city centre residents.

“Once our plans for the development are sufficiently advanced, we will engage fully and openly with all of those interested in and affected by our plans as we fully recognise the importance of working in partnership with the community.”

“To support us in doing this in a coordinated way, we have engaged a Waterford-based corporate communications firm and the current project timeline suggests we will be going public with our plans in September and — at that time — we will have a series of meetings with concerned individuals and groups.

“It would obviously be premature for us to begin this process of engagement until our plans are more advanced.”
