Judge Timothy Lucy heard that during the alleged incident a variety of weapons, including iron bars, snooker cues, chairs and signs, were used.

Judge Lucy refused bail for all seven of the accused because of the seriousness of the charge and said he had to take into account the evidence of Det Inspector Jim Browne, who said he feared potential loss of life if bail was granted.

All seven were remanded in custody to appear before the court next week.
