A son of slain Limerick gangland figure Eddie Ryan has brought a High Court challenge after he was refused extended remission on a six-year jail sentence.

A NUMBER of people were remanded at Limerick City Court yesterday arising out of recent disturbances in Moyross.

Gardaí in Limerick have begun an investigation into a shooting in the city.

SEVEN people appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court last night charged in connection with a “pitched battle” which could have resulted in serious injury or loss of life, gardaí claimed.
