Cowen to correct Dáil comments on stallion tax

FINANCE Minister Brian Cowen will this morning correct the record after inadvertently misleading the Dáil about the European Commission’s investigation into the tax exemption for stallions.

Mr Cowen told the Dáil on Tuesday that the commission had not contacted his department since July last year in relation to the controversial exemption.

“The idea that the matter is exercising everyone’s mind on a weekly basis and that some mystery attaches to it is unfounded,” he said.
