Fuel fears: Petrol to hit E1 a litre

PETROL prices could soon r each one euro per litre, as oil prices soared to a 14-year-high yesterday.

Figures published by the Central Statistics Office yesterday showed inflation rising for the first time in seven months. Opposition politicians blamed petrol prices and escalating childcare costs for the rise.

A top economist also warned yesterday that consumers face price increases for electricity and gas.
