DUBLIN City Council is to consider quitting as the country’s biggest landlord with 26,500 dwellings on its books.

Assistant city manager Brendan Kenny yesterday said: “We feel it would be good to lessen our direct involvement.”

The housing stock could be handed over to “a new form of landlord” and Mr Kenny suggested a housing association model, or co-operative comprising residents assisted by a housing association.
