A 48-year-old man's body was found in the River Shannon at Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim on Monday morning. The man is believed to be from Boyle, Co Roscommon, but his name was not being released by gardaí, who said foul play is not suspected.
Yesterday morning, a 21-year-old man's body was found in the water at Lough Lannagh pier near Castlebar.
A woman walking near the lake at around 7am spotted the body and notified gardaí. They later found some clothing belonging to the local man near the water.
The body was taken to Mayo General Hospital for a post mortem examination but gardaí have ruled out any suspicion in relation to the death.
