TÁNAISTE Mary Harney yesterday responded sharply to Pat Rabbitte’s strong rejection of the Labour Party going into government with the Progressive Democrats.

Asked on RTÉ’s News at One if Labour ruling out the PDs now meant it was ‘Bertie or Bust’, Ms Harney said her party had no preference for a Fianna Fáil-led or a Fine Gael-led government after the next election.

Referring to Mr Rabbitte’s comments, she pointedly suggested that the Labour Party itself may reject its leader’s stance after 2007.
