Lisa’s star set to shine in near future

LISA BRESNAN is out — but she’s not down.

Lisa’s star set to shine in near future

The 22-year-old teacher said she is taking a break from singing after being eliminated from the final four of RTÉ’s You’re a Star on Sunday night.

But as the offers continue to flood in, she could soon be forced to reconsider her future. Speaking on the way home to Limerick yesterday, she said: “To be honest, I knew it would be this week or next week. I think Simon Casey and Mickey Harte have held on to the two top positions and you know, the longer it goes on, the harder it gets.”

Lisa’s original aim was to make the final 13 of You’re a Star.

But when a wild card selection by judge Darren Smith put her into the final four it changed her life forever. After a few hectic months, she has decided to step out of the limelight and finish her studies as a primary teacher before considering her next move.

There will be offers for her when she does decide to return, according to RTÉ’s commissioning editor for the show, Kevin Linihane.

“There were people in the business talking about her already. It is gut-wrenching to lose but she will have a future,” he said.
