Gardaí probe Carlow shooting

A MAJOR garda investigation was launched in Carlow yesterday after an early morning gun attack on a man in a housing estate in the town.

The victim was named locally as Paddy McAndrew, 24, a native of the Tullow area of Co Carlow. He was shot in the leg when three armed and masked raiders broke into his home at The Laurels, Tullow Road, Carlow, at approximately 4.30am yesterday.

Gardaí believe a small firearm, possibly a handgun, was used in the attack.
