While the typical performance car might have you thinking of high-powered petrol vehicles, in recent times there have been plenty of go-faster electric models launched too.

Hyundai was one of the trendsetters in the electric performance car class with its Ioniq 5N, which was first launched in 2023. It has since built on that success with this car – the Ioniq 6N – which is a high-performance version of its sweeping electric saloon.
Like the 5N, the 6N has a dual-motor setup which delivers high levels of performance, but the real magic comes in the level of driver engagement that this car brings. It’s helped no end by the car’s clever ‘virtual gearshift’ system which recreates the sound and feel of a ‘traditional’ paddle gearshift.
Opel has evolved its famous VXR performance sub-brand into the electrified with GSe. It has kicked things off with a go-faster version of its popular Mokka crossover, too, equipping it with revised suspension, sportier handling and an altogether more dynamic appearance.
The Mokka GSe is great to drive, too, and actually feels more like a traditional hot-hatch than you might expect.

Abarth is well known for its ability to create exciting hot-hatches and that has already translated into some very interesting electric alternatives. Underneath, the 600e is very similar to the Mokka GSe, but on the outside the two are chalk and cheese.
While the 600e delivers an impressive driving experience, it also has a quirky ‘sound generator’ which mimics the sound of one of Abarth’s petrol models.
