Wheels & Deals - Ford service offer

And just for the months of June, July and August, customers who have a Motorcraft 5+ Service carried out on their car will receive a free €20 fuel voucher.

According to Dave Pimlott, Ford Ireland director of customer service: “We have heard anecdotally from our dealers around the country that many customers are postponing or skipping servicing of their cars mainly due to money worries. To any motorist who has been in that position we are sure that our Motorcraft 5+ Service offering will be of interest — and even more so, when you take into account our €20 fuel voucher offer.”

With a great value service price-point of €129 for any model from a Ka to a Galaxy, the Motorcraft 5+ Service offering also includes key quality commitments, including an oil and oil filter change, air or cabin filter replacement, an electronic vehicle health check, a check for outstanding service enhancements and software updates, national recommended prices for frequent repairs and tyres and a complimentary car wash.

In addition, the offer features a price match guarantee on the service cost, a comprehensive parts guarantee, and an NCT guarantee.

Available in all Ford dealerships across Ireland, customers can book a service appointment at any time by visiting Ford’s Online Service Booking website: ford.ie/FordService/Servicing or by contacting their local Ford dealership.

OPEL REPORTS SALES RISE

Opel says it has considerably increased sales across Europe in the first five months of the year. According to preliminary figures from January through May New vehicle registrations increased by 3.6% to 454,807 units versus the same year-ago period, representing a 5.77% share of the overall vehicle market in Europe. In May Opel sold 95,143 units, and market share climbed to 5.96%.

“Our models have proven popular and we are benefiting from this upsurge in many European countries that are growing once again.

“This is also reflected in the order books. We have already received more than 240,000 orders for the Mokka across Europe, over 90,000 for our lifestyle ADAM and more than 100,000 for our flagship, the new Insignia,” says board member for sales, Peter Christian Küspert.

In the first five months Opel gained market share in ten European countries. This included Germany, where market share rose to 6.88% of the total vehicle market over the first five months. In May alone, market share reached 7.26%.

The compact Mokka SUV was number one in the SUV segment in May as well as in the first five months of the year.

The Corsa proved to be a perennial favourite and ranked number one in the small car segment in May. The Zafira was number two in the high-capacity van segment in May as well as in the first five months of this year.

DUSTER COMMERCIAL

Dacia is set to further boost its successes on the Irish market with the introduction of a commercial version of the very popular Duster model.

Already there are over 900 Dusters on our roads so far this year and Dacia says the Commercial version will sit in the competitive Car Derived Van (CDV)/SUV/PickUp segment, which represents almost 27% of the LCV Market.

It is based on the same design and engine size as the original Duster and is locally converted with its rear seats removed and rear windows blacked out to hide cargo. It will cost from €13,361, excluding Vat and delivery charges (€15,990 including Vat and charges) and will come in two guises, like the original model. The Alternative 4x2 and the Signature 4x2 and 4x4, with one punchy 1.5 dCi 110 bhp and it comes with a standard 3 year, 100,000 km warranty, extendable to five years unlimited mileage warranty.

Dacia maintains the Duster Commercial is an ideal vehicle for small business drivers or larger businesses with a mixed fleet. Its current list of competitors in the CDV segment include the Ford Focus Van (from €18,700 incl VAT), the Hyundai i30 i-pro (from €17,495 incl VAT), and the Toyota Auris Van (from €18,495 incl VAT).

The Duster, as with all Dacia vehicles, offers a more competitive price, without all the non-essential extras, as well as a bigger luggage volume in excess of 1,650 litres.
