Rewrite constitution

HAVING read the Irish constitution recently I am convinced there is a need for a national assembly to be drawn up and given the brief to rewrite major parts of it.

There are sections of the document that are repetitive, vague beyond common understanding, irrelevant and totally outdated.

In addition, the number of Oireachtas members should be reduced.

If one were to equate the US House of Representatives and the US Senate to both Irish chambers there would be seven members of the Dáil and four members of the Seanad.
