THE State has still to decide if the owner of a vessel which sank a year ago, claiming five lives, will be prosecuted — nine months after gardaí submitted an extensive file on the tragedy.

GARDAÍ are expected to send a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions within months over the Fethard-on-Sea boating tragedy.

Accident investigators were today examining a fishing boat in a bid to establish how it sank with the loss of five lives, including three generations of one family.
