Nearly 80% of consumers save €263 on average each month according to the EBS quarterly Consumer Saving Sentiment survey.

The average Irish saver is accumulating €3,303 a year, up 10% on what they were saving last year, according to the ESB consumer savings sentiment research.

The volume of retail sales increased by 0.7% between June and July, driven mainly by sales of clothing, hardware, and fuels.
