IF the history/geography teachers are feeling sorry for themselves regarding changes in secondary curriculums, what about parents of secondary school pupils regarding textbooks?

IN recent months I have been dismayed as our country seems to be going down the tubes. Politicians with no light in their eyes or fire in their bellies just seem to mumble prepared statements on various issues.

I WISH to include another name in Diarmaid Ferriter’s list (July 12) of most arrogant ministers: Trevor Sargent, for stepping ‘down’ into his new office as a junior minister.

THE other day I brought my children to swimming lessons with the Lee Swimming Club in Douglas pool, Cork. I was shocked by the conditions there.
