The north and west of the country are preparing for high winds and heavy rain later today following a severe weather warning from Met Eireann.

The Chambers of Commerce of Ireland has demanded an immediate meeting with the Government to discuss the impact of the foot-and-mouth outbreak on Irish businesses.
