The Chambers of Commerce of Ireland has demanded an immediate meeting with the Government to discuss the impact of the foot-and-mouth outbreak on Irish businesses.

The CCI said the confirmation this morning of the case in Co Louth will lead to more staff lay-offs and possible company closures.
