Fee-charging schools have warned that further cuts to their funding in next month’s budget will cost the taxpayer money.

Students at a secondary school in Castlebar, Co Mayo, have gone on strike outside the school building in protest at the ongoing dispute between the Government and the Association of Secondary Teachers.

Order has been restored at Ballyhaunis Community School in Co Mayo following yesterday’s disruption by students on the first day of ASTI withdrawal from supervision and substitution.
