All of Ireland’s nine Michelin star restaurants have retained their status.

There are no new recipients of Michelin Stars in the Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2015 just published today.

The days of having to put up with dodgy pub food are at an end, as more pubs have earned the right to be named as some of the best places to eat.

Nine Irish restaurants have been awarded Michelin stars, among them two new recipients of the coveted accolade.

It’s champagne time for the country’s top chefs who made the grade in one of the most exclusive culinary and hospitality clubs in the land — the 100 Best Restaurants and 100 Best Places to Stay in Ireland.

IT may not have been Dylan Thomas’ “mussel pooled and the heron Priested shore” but the view from the windows at Deasy’s Seafood Bar in Ring, outside Clonakilty, Co Cork, is as captivating as I imagine the shoreline that shaped the Welshman’s sublime Poem in October must have been.

WHEN driving through Clonakilty many people may be tempted to continue west to the beaches, or drive around the bay to the beautiful strand in Inchydoney. Few, however take the less travelled road out to Ring.
