A LEADING expert has called for targeted research into “unexplained” cancer spikes in specific parts of the country which do not appear to be linked to lifestyle or family history.

DESPITE living in almost identical climates, and having similar levels of education and social scenes, people in the Republic are still more likely to develop nearly all forms of cancer than our cousins in the North.
