The weather gods and “the biggest Child of Prague statue known to man” guaranteed sunshine for Cork couple Roisín Lynch and Aidan Pendlebury’s big day, according to the bride.
Roisín, from Douglas, Cork, and Aidan, from Clonakilty, held their wedding ceremony and reception at Dunmore House Hotel, Clonakilty.

“There were many reasons for this — including its location being right on the seafront and overlooking Inchydoney beach where we shared our first kiss,” says Roisín. “We were married right on the waterfront, which was our dream from day one, surrounded by a wildflower garden theme.”
“Floating” with happiness is how the bride says she felt as she arrived, to be married by her aunt and godmother, Ethel O’Shea, who was the celebrant.

Ciarán Calnan (@rawneymusic on Instagram) played Feels Like Home as Roisín walked down the aisle with her dad.

“We finished the ceremony with Take My Hand by Picture This, my surprise for Roisín, as she loves that band,” says Aidan.
The bride’s parents, Ber Lynch and Ciarán Lynch (former Labour TD for Cork South-Central), and the groom’s mother, Betty Pendlebury, toasted to their future happiness.

Roisín chose her friends Rebekah Daunt, Jennifer Hosford, Emma Jagoe, and Aidan’s sister Lorraine Pendlebury to be her bridesmaids.

Aidan’s brother Conor Pendlebury was by his side as his best man, and Aidan’s son Cameron Pendlebury and friends Iain O’Driscoll and Jericho Killingbeck were the groomsmen.

The groom’s nephew Eimhin Pendlebury was the pageboy, and niece Saoirse Pendlebury was the flowergirl.
Photographer Dermot Sullivan (Dermotsullivan.com) and videographer Greg Mulcahy were behind the cameras.

Although their beloved 18-month-old cat, Boris Yeltsin, didn’t get to attend the event, Roisín and Aidan managed to pose for some photographs with him in Clonakilty.
The pair first met in April 2023.
“It was five months after I had moved back to Cork after having lived in London for almost 10 years,” says Roisín.

They got engaged on December 12, 2024, four days before Roisín’s birthday.
“Aidan suggested we go for a walk on the Inchydoney road after work on a cold, dark evening, and he got down on one knee,” she says. “It was the perfect proposal as it was on the road where our very first date began.
“It was a bittersweet month with the untimely passing of Aidan’s beloved older sister, Eilís Mackie, on December 30 that year. Eilís was alive to witness our engagement, which we will always remember fondly.”

The bride sourced her wedding dress from Vows: “Credit needs to go to Caroline Fay-O’Sullivan (@momsaidwearpink on Instagram), who completely transformed the original dress into the perfect version I had envisioned.”
The bridesmaids’ dresses were from Diamond Bridal (url=https://www.instagram.com/diamond_bridal1/]@diamond_bridal1[/url]). The groom and his party were dapper thanks to Tom Murphy Menswear, Cork. Makeup artist Jessica May Parker and hairstylist Aisling Kelleher ensured the bridal party was camera-ready.

Wedding band The Monks kept the dance floor full, and Flicky Howe created the floral décor.
“Aidan designed our wedding invitations, signage, and the order-of-ceremony cards that were given to our guests as they took their seats. The imaging Aidan used captured our wildflower theme perfectly,” says Roisín.
The newly-weds honeymooned in Italy.
