The husband of Irish content creator Liz Kavanagh has paid tribute to his “ incredibly beautiful, brave, resilient, funny, caring” wife following her death.

Kavanagh, who tied the knot with her husband Kieran O’Malley in March, passed away at Galway Hospice, surrounded by her family, this week.

She was diagnosed with cancer in October 2024 and got engaged to her longtime love, O’Malley, the following year.

In March, the pair received the news that her cancer had spread and that there was nothing more doctors could do.

She moved to hospice care, and married O’Malley just days later, saying at the time that the day was all they could have asked for, spent with family and friends.

On Monday, O’Malley published a photo of him and his wife on Instagram, captioning the post: “My incredibly beautiful, brave, resilient, funny, caring wife has joined the other angels in heaven. Liz, you were the best thing that happened in my life; our time together was so special from our first date.

"I know you'll be with me in spirit from now on. Thank you for being the most special person I've ever met.

“A huge thanks to the remarkable staff of @galwayhospice who were amazing from the second she arrived until her last breath.”

Her funeral mass will take place at St Patrick's Church in Cortoon, Co Galway at 12pm on Wednesday.
