Limerick-based newlyweds Rachel Thomas and Conor Robinson met in London and got married in Kerry.

Rachel, from Kilfinny, Adare, Co Limerick, and Conor, originally from Knocklyon, Dublin, were wed in St Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney, by Fr Sean Harmon.

The couple, who live in Mungret, Co Limerick, chose The Brehon Hotel for their reception venue.

Rachel and Conor’s son was thrilled to take centre stage.

“Our gorgeous little boy Séimí Robinson was our pageboy,” says the bride. “He was in the best form, and he walked down the aisle with us afterwards.

“I was very nervous about the weather and had bought a Child of Prague [statue]. Séimí broke its head several hours after.” But the bride adds that it brought them “good luck”. “We had the best day ever — it was magical,” she says. “Everyone had a ball.”

Adding to the fun were both sets of parents, Helen and Dave Thomas, and Catherine and John Robinson.

Choosing her bridal party was an easy decision for Rachel.

“My best friend since I was one year of age, Bríd Hannan, was my maid of honour, and my bridesmaids were my two sisters, Aoife and Aileen,” she says.

Conor’s brother, Keith, was by his side as his best man, with Darragh McCarthy and Joe Johnston as his groomsmen.

Rachel and Conor’s paths first crossed in 2020 in Infernos in Clapham.

“We met in 2020, pre-covid times,” says Rachel. “Back then, I lived in Clapham and Conor was visiting a friend at the time.”

They got engaged in the five-star Europe Hotel in Killarney four years later, in April 2024.

Rachel found her dream wedding dress in Pearl Lane, Galway, and Conor bought his suit in Esquire in Limerick.

“I loved dress shopping but found it very hard to find ‘the one’,” she says.

Annette O’Brien was the bridal makeup artist, and Christine O’Sullivan was Rachel’s hairstylist.

Kaspars Sarovarcenko, of Black Diamond Photography (blackdiamondphotography.ie), and LM Wedding Videography captured the occasion on camera.

Performing on their big day were musicians Niamh agus Daithí and wedding band Truly Diverse.

Rachel and Conor stepped onto the floor for their first dance as newlyweds to Alex Wren’s Carry You Home.

Every Occasion, Tralee, created the floral decor, and the wedding cake was by O’Carrolls Cakes, Killarney.

Rachel, a nurse, and Conor, who works for a pharmaceutical company, chose Riviera Maya, Mexico, as their honeymoon destination.
