According to the retail experts at Trendalytics, woven sandals are proving popular (up +36% compared to last year) as consumers seek more artistry in their footwear.

Currently, Spanish brand Hereu — a go-to among discerning fashion influencers like @dailyhelen — is earning quiet luxury credentials with its artisan-made beauties.

French favourite Sézane boasts a flirty offering both in heeled shoes and flats (I swear by them), with Zara’s leather iterations a strong high-street contender.

More of a mála than a shoe person? Massimo Dutti’s limited-edition run of woven Nappa leather bags in different colours (oh, that sky blue!) deserves a mention.
