Páirc Uí Rinn has been confirmed as the Cork footballers’ home venue for the entirety of the All-Ireland series.
Local radio station, reported Monday that Páirc Uí Rinn would be the nominated home venue for Cork’s Sam Maguire Round 1 game against Meath on the weekend of May 23/24.
Further to that, it emerged from Tuesday’s Cork GAA board meeting that Páirc Uí Rinn, following a request from team management, will also be used should the Cork footballers be drawn at home in either Rounds 2 or 3 of the All-Ireland series.
Rounds 2A and 2B are scheduled for June 13/14, with Round 3 taking place a week later on June 20/21.
Should Cork overcome Meath at Páirc Uí Rinn for the second time this year, there is no guarantee their Round 2A fixture will be at home.
The eight Round 1 winners will be thrown into the same bowl, with home advantage going to the first drawn team. The same applies to the eight beaten Round 1 teams who'll comprise Round 2B.
Páirc Uí Rinn was the expected home venue for any Cork involvement in Round 3 of the All-Ireland series, given Páirc Uí Chaoimh will be out of commission on the weekend of June 20/21 owing to the Zach Bryan concerts at the home of Cork GAA.
