Someone in the Garda Press Office has posted a cheeky joke - with an important message - ahead of Ireland’s match with Denmark on Saturday.
The poster enjoyed a hefty bite of a Danish pastry before writing: "We love getting stuck into the Danish here and we’re hoping the boys in green do the same!"
We love getting stuck into the Danish here and we're hoping the boys in green do the same! If you are going out over the weekend take care of your property, particularly mobile phones, purses/wallets. Most importantly, don't get behind the wheel if your drinking! #IREvDEN #COYBIG pic.twitter.com/zFDYzbaS1I— An Garda Síochána (@GardaTraffic) November 10, 2017
Before finishing off the pastry and cup of tea, the poster advised members of the public to make if they are heading out for the match or any other night:
- lan your night out
- et someone know where you’re going and when you’ll be back
- void walking alone and in dark places
- ever attempt to reason with drunk or aggressive people
- treetwise: be wary of your surroundings and mind your valuables
