Female Lebanese TV presenter shuts interview down after male guest tells her to 'shut up'

Lebanese TV presenter Rima Karaki was forced to cut a live interview short after the interviewee said it was 'beneath' hm to be interviewed by her.

Lebanese TV presenter Rima Karaki was forced to cut a live interview short after the interviewee -Sunni Muslim scholar Hani al-Seba’i - told her to 'shut up'.

Al-Seba'i - who is based in London - also told Karaki that it was 'beneath' him to be interviewed by her.

The scholar was appearing via video-link from London to discuss reports of Christians joining Isis in the Middle East. While talking about the Red Brigades in Italy and the German Baader-Meinhof Group, Karaki tried to direct him back to the subject at hand.

And that's when things kicked off.

Clearly annoyed by the interruption, Al-Seba'i responds:

"Listen, don't cut me off. I will answer as I please…what kind of behaviour is this. I will not answer the way you like, because I'm here to serve the idea in which I believe,"

After Karaki attempts to calm him down, he then calls her 'high and mighty' and after she asks him not to call her names, he tells her to 'shut up'.

"Are you done?" the scholar said.

"Shut up so I can talk. It’s beneath me to be interviewed by you, you are a woman who…"

His microphone is then disconnected and Karaki concludes the segment with:

"Either there is mutual respect, or the conversation is over".
