Who's a good boy, then?

Family dog keeps missing boy safe until rescuers arrive

A family dog was the hero of the day after protecting a missing boy until rescuers found them - six hours later.

Carson Urness, who's three-years-old, was playing with his pet dog, Cooper, on his family's farm in North Dakota when he wandered off.

Loyal Cooper stayed with the toddler the whole time he was missing and even sheltered him when the weather turned cold and wet.

Some 200 volunteers searched for the pair when they were spotted about a mile from the farm. Both the boy and his faithful companion were unharmed by the ordeal.

Man's best friend, indeed.
