ATTENTION CORRIE FANS: Our top five Gail Platt moments

Love her or hate her Gail Platt has been entertaining us on the cobbles for nearly 40 years.

You will see from the top five moments we have compiled that poor Gail has had a lot to contend with.

1. Some of Gail's best acting was seen when her then 13-year-old on screen daughter Sarah Louise found out she was pregnant at a trip to the doctor's surgery.

All the while Martin was planning to leave her for another woman, poor Gail.

2. We were all glued to the television when Gail's husband Richard went a bit mad and drove her, David and Sarah Lou into a canal. It also reminded us all how good the 'you and me' song by the wannadies is.

3. For those of you who are easily irritated by Gail, her major story line this year will have given you some satisfaction.

After getting together with her mother Audrey's ex-boyfriend Lewis her world came crashing down.

Lewis was using Gail to get revenge for ruining his chance of happiness with Audrey, while he was at it he cleaned out her bank account.

4. As is the norm Gail is constantly tormented, taunted and pushed around by her son David.

This particular scene was in a word 'nuts' though.

In his defence he was only trying to, spread a little "peanut shaped happiness."

5. Never one to shy away from a fight here was one of Gail's better moments when she threw a cake at Deidre Barlow
