'Fast & Furious 5' does what it says on the tin

There’s a curious honesty about the F&F franchise: you always get exactly what you expect … plenty of furious action, car chases and crashes, punch-ups and sexy women.

'F&F' doesn’t promise a plot of depth, but delivers the goods to its vast army of fans.

They’re never great films but they are successful ones in their tongue-in-cheek way.

Here, for what it’s worth, given that the plot merely operates to keep the action moving at its brisk pace, we have Dominic (Diesel) and his crew caught between an evil drug lord and a dedicated FBI agent … none of which matters, the bangs deliver the bucks.
