Evicted Stuart says 'Big Brother' was 'hell on earth'

Stuart Pilkington last night became the ninth housemate to be evicted from the 'Big Brother' house.

On the 72nd day in the house, the 25-year-old personal trainer and property developer from Cheshire lost to fellow nominated housemate Rachel Rice.

He received 59% of the total votes cast to decide who would be the next person evicted.

Wearing a black blazer jacket, white shirt, black cravat tie and jeans, Stuart descended the stairs from the house to be greeted by a cheering crowd, which he was more than happy to briefly jump into before being pulled out by security staff.

Dubbed "muscles from Manchester" by host Davina McCall, the self-confessed gym fanatic described some of his time in the compound as "hell on earth".

In a live interview after the eviction he said: "Being eight weeks away from my door, it was hell on earth."

He also said that he suffered from low self-confidence and entered the house to be accepted.

"I was scared ever since walking in the house.

"Where I'm from I don't know that many people and people just think that I'm up myself.

"I don't need acceptance on a mass scale but I would like to be accepted."

When his name was announced in the live eviction show, housemates fell silent for a moment before Stuart jumped up to hug fellow housemates.

Upon hearing his name called he let out whoops of delight and embraced other housemates. He shouted: "I'm going home" and "this is it".

In the diary room earlier today Stuart said of his experience in the house: "It has been everything I thought and more.

"I think everyone in the house thinks I'm a nice guy when people didn't think that at first.

"I'm like a fungus, I grow on people."

He lost the vote to 25-year-old trainee teacher Rachel, from Torfaen, south Wales.

When she found out that she would not be leaving she hugged Kathreya tightly.

She also received embraces from Darnell as Kathreya looked on and mouthed the word "yes" several times.

Rachel received six nominations from her fellow housemates.

She told Mikey and Kathreya: "I'm all right, I don't want to go - but I'm cool about it.

"Stuart's very nice, but he's got a lot of support as well.

"That's what I mean; if I was up against someone that I thought was not very nice then I would be more worried.

"If I was up against someone who was really evil and then I went I'd be worried.

"But Stuart's a nice guy, so I'm not worried about it."
