Elton to be honoured by Billboard

Elton John will receive the Legend of Live Award at the Billboard Touring Awards in New York City later this year.

The Rocket Man is the first to receive the award, which will be presented on November 9.

The Touring Awards will also bestow the Humanitarian Award to Music Rising, the musical instrument replacement fund part-founded by U2's The Edge.

Music Rising was launched after hurricanes Katrina and Rita and targets musicians who lost equipment in the storms.
