Charlotte Church almost fled Britain after her mother's breakdown and her step-father's infidelity became too much for the Welsh star.

Church, 20, admits she struggled earlier this year when news of her family problems were leaked to the press.

The Welsh singer said: "It was a really strange time when mum went into the Priory. But I knew rehab was the best place for her. She needed to get away from all of the stress and sort herself out. It was tough on the whole family because we are all very close.

"When I heard all these stories about my family going around where we live, it really got to me. It got to a point where I didn't just want to leave Cardiff but Britain entirely."
