London-born Rod Stewsrt is determined to escape the fast-paced city lifestyle when he retires from rock - and move to a remote area in Scotland.

The Maggie May singer plans to quit Los Angeles - where he's lived for 30 years - and return to his late father Robert's homeland with his future wife Penny Lancaster.

However, Stewart insists he'll only uproot when his children with estranged wife Rachel Hunter, Liam and Renee, are old enough to look after themselves.

He says: "I would come home tomorrow for family, friends, the pubs, the attitudes, the papers, the weather, the humour. I love it all. But not until all the kids are 18 and gone their own way.

"I miss my dad tremendously. Not a day goes by without me thinking of him. I was very close to him."
