Bono considers change to politics

U2 frontman Bono is tempted to become a full-time politician, but would miss the salary and freedom of speech he enjoys as a rocker.

The With or Without You star is devoted to campaigning for Aids relief and African famine victims but is reluctant to give up his celebrity lifestyle to support the causes full-time.

He explains: "I'm oscillating. I'm between a rocker and politician. I like to be able to say what I want. Politicians can't do that. I think I like power without responsibility. And I'd have to have a smaller house."

Bono made the revelations in a candid interview with British Prime Minister Tony Blair's former press chief Alastair Campbell for TV show Alastair Campbell Interviews Bono on Britain's Channel Five.
