Etheridge diagnosed with cancer

Rock star Melissa Etheridge has cancelled a string of concerts after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The tumour was caught early and, according to her publicist, Etheridge is expected to make a full recovery.

The singer, 43, and actress partner Tammy Lynn Michaels shared a commitment ceremony a year ago.
