Love, lust, betrayal and revenge; well, it's a French film and the French do this sort of tosh ever so well.

There is a great deal of having it away, of once mildly middle-age wives making strange deals with ladies of horizontal pleasure in order to gain revenge on straying husbands; well, it's a French film!

What makes this often slow-moving drama work is the playing of Ardant, Beart and Depardieu and in writer-director Fontaine's strong screenplay.
