Kerry fancies a curry on return to Ireland

Queen of the Jungle Kerry McFadden said she was looking forward to a chicken curry with her family as she arrived home in Ireland tonight.

When she touched down at Dublin airport the 23-year-old former Atomic Kitten star burst into tears as she saw her one-year-old daughter walk towards her for the first time.

The winner of ITV1’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! Said she was absolutely devastated to have missed Lily-Sue’s first steps while she was in the jungle but said it was fantastic to be reunited with both daughters in Dublin this evening.

“I’m delighted to be home. It’s absolutely fantastic to be back with the kids, I’ll never leave them again,” she said.

“Now I just want to get home and cuddle up with them all. We’re spending Valentine’s night at home with egg-fried rice and a chicken curry.

Holding Lily-Sue and Molly, two, she added: “It’s great to be back home, I love Ireland. When Lily walked towards me it was the best present ever. I missed them all so much it actually ached.”

A huge party is planned for tomorrow night to celebrate her return. Jungle friends Alex Best, Neil “Razor” Ruddock and Lord Brocket are all expected to attend.

Kerry vowed to stay in touch with all of them and said she had made great friends during her two weeks in the Australian jungle.

The star has donated her winnings to two Irish charities.

The Temple Street Children’s Hospital and the Variety Club of Ireland will share over €1m raised through premium vote phone charges viewers paid to vote for Kerry.

Kerry is tipped to make more than €3m after polling the majority of the three million votes cast to win I’m a Celebrity.

She was an early favourite to be booted off the hit show after sobbing her way through the first few days but her plucky comeback impressed viewers and she was soon the punters’ favourite.

Kerry overcame an unhappy childhood to become a member of the top-selling girl band and marry Westlife star Bryan.

Her mother was in an abusive relationship and fled to women’s refuges with Kerry on more than one occasion.

She was taken into care at 13, lived with four sets of foster parents and went to eight different schools but her fortunes changed when she joined pop group Atomic Kitten in 1999.

They had five hits, including the number one smash Whole Again, but Kerry quit at the height of their success after meeting Bryan.

She became pregnant with daughter Molly and the couple got engaged soon after.

In January 2002 they had a fairytale wedding at Slane Castle, Co Meath.

The couple’s second daughter, Lily-Sue, was born last year.
