Oasis drummer 'asked to leave'

Alan White has left Oasis - and the band say they asked him to leave.

The drummer joined Oasis in 1995 after original drummer Tony McCarroll left before the recording sessions for second album 'What's The Story (Morning Glory"'.

According to NME a spokesperson for the band said: "Alan White has been asked to leave Oasis by the other band members. There are no plans to replace Alan. The band's scheduled recording sessions remain unaffected."

Oasis will release their new album later this year, possibly in September
