Daredevil return depends on director, says Ben

Ben Affleck has told website Sci-Fi that he would only play blind hero Matt Murdock in Daredevil 2 if director Kevin Smith also returned.

The Gigli actor said he was reluctant to return to the role but might change his mind if Smith, who directed him in Mallrats, Dogma, Jersey Girl, Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, got involved.

Ben says, "I don't know about Daredevil 2. That may be too much work for me. I don't have any idea. I suppose that if Kevin Smith wrote it and was going to be involved, I would do it.

"But I'm not banging down the door trying to get Daredevil 2 made. You'll know when my career is really on the slide when I start resurrecting the franchise".
