Hunt on for US David Brent

A hunt is on for an actor to portray David Brent in an American version of the BBC Two comedy series The Office.

Ricky Gervais will be a script consultant and executive producer of the US remake, but will not appear in it, according to sources at Reveille, the Universal Television-based production company making the US version.
