With such a wonderful cast in such a wonderful film, you can put your feet up and wallow in delight.

This is one of those French films which enchant and entertain and send you home feeling good.

It's a splendid, colourful and off-beat film which combines murder and mystery with song and dance - and gets away with the sheer cheek of even trying such things.

The story is set in the l950s when the ladies of the title gather at a country mansion. The film's lone male - who has occupied the house - has been murdered and the ladies, all in some way related to the victim, are all suspects.

Ultimately, it hardly matters which one did it, it's the getting to that point which makes the film so utterly enjoyable - and tuneful (wait for these magical moments).

It is also a stylishly eye-catching film packed with some sharp dialogue and funny, sexy moments.

It would be humbug not to admit you loved every second of this gem.

Star Rating: 5/5.
