Mel Gibson's production company prepares first feature

Mel Gibson's production company has been given the go ahead for its first feature.

Icon Productions will begin shooting a thriller in May called Paparazzi.

Kurt Russell has been approached to star in the film - which focuses on a movie star who plots revenge after relentless hounding by a photographer.

Icon signed a two-year, first-look production deal with Fox three weeks ago, ending its long-term association with Paramount.

The terms of the deal call for Gibson to star in at least one film for Fox, reports Variety.
